Toronto Chinese Medicine - Cover Story

Toronto Chines Medicine to aid in the overall rejuvenation of your healthMedical advertisements in a variety of media make claims like, "Chinese medicine cures diabetes," "Diabetes patients don’t need to take medicine for their life time," "Completely out of 'Sugar' stress," "caused the international diabetes community a great sensation", "Another major breakthrough in diabetes research." But are doctors correct in considering diabetes an incurable lifetime disease, whether Type I or Type II? Are these medical advertisements reliable?

These ads claiming to cure diabetes only refer to Type II diabetes. None will dare claim to be able to completely cure diabetes. Chinese and western medicines agree that with Type I diabetes you must take insulin for life. There is a widely held belief that the function of the pancreas cannot be restored. Articles in medical journals on the subject of diabetes contain similar views. Under the current medical standards, can they actually cure diabetes? Are there drugs that can cure diabetes?

At GreenPath Diabetes Centre in Toronto, we use Traditional Chinese Medicine to restore the function of damaged internal organs. Through the miracle of Dr. Zhang’s treatment, thousands of patients have ended the life-long pain caused by diabetes. With Dr. Zhang’s treatments, diabetes will no longer be a problem!

Cecilia Zhang was born into a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) family. She graduated from Jilin University. Subsequent to her graduation, she engaged in research in chemistry, medicine, electronics, medical education and numerous other fields.

She has had many remarkable achievements throughout her career. In the late seventies, after reviewing her outstanding research into TCM, the Vice President of the University of Washington, Zhang Shensi said: "We can see a bright future for Chinese medicine from this young lady." In 1987, while studying in Russia, Dr. Zhang was appointed by the Jilin Provincial Government and the Ministry of Health to establish a Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic in Moscow.

Since that time, she has devoted all of her efforts to medical research and clinical practice in the TCM field. A solid, comprehensive theoretical background and hard work in the pursuit of her ideas in the medical field have made her an outstanding doctor. In the early nineties, Dr. Zhang was appointed by the U.S. government to develop Chinese medicine for the treatment of drug abuse and addiction disorder at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She developed TCM formulas for this treatment (with 95% successful cases) that have been used since then. In recognition of this work, the U.S. government granted Dr. Zhang a permanent green card as a special talent.

In 1996, Mrs. Zhang immigrated to Toronto and founded GreenPath Diabetes Center. By using her in-depth knowledge of Chinese medicine acquired over 30 years in clinical practice and medical scientific research, she has developed Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments for many kinds of complicated and difficult incurable diseases. Dr. Zhang has also developed numerous cures for common diseases. Dr. Zhang has commented that although the prevailing view in medicine is that diabetes is a lifelong disease, she has developed an effective treatment for this condition.

In general, there are two types of diabetes: Type I diabetes, also known as insulin dependent diabetes mellitus and Type II diabetes called non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. As the recent discovery of the insulin dependent diabetes is relative, the type II diabetes can progress to a certain stage that it also must be treated with insulin. Therefore, the current classification of diabetes mellitus has not been mentioned whether insulin dependent, and only mention Type I or Type II. For Type II diabetes, although currently there are many new treatments in the study, such as gene therapy and pancreas transplants, they are all in the research stage. In clinics everywhere, their main treatments are still using drugs. Even though new drugs come one after another, the main treatments are still on the old common anti-diabetes drug based treatments such as, sulfonylureas, metformin, glucosidase inhibitors, thiazolidinediones, ketones; they promote secretion of non-sulfonylurea agents and insulin.

In GreenPath Diabetes Centre, Dr. Zhang has successfully created a new diabetes treatment option – “Ruisai.” This treatment consists of acupuncture along with a unique TCM herb formula that results in change at the cellular level that succeeds in rapidly controlling symptoms, stabilizing and lowering blood sugar. Patients improve physically, rapidly achieving a therapeutic benefit. Those in the early stages of Type I diabetes can stop using insulin and restore pancreatic function. Those with Type II (non-insulin dependent) will be completely cured, along with the underlying causes of their diabetes.

Diabetes can be painful. If not controlled early and appropriately, disease complications develop quickly. Some of the most serious complications include: uraemia, blindness, gangrene and amputation. If the disease is too advanced, medical interventions lose their effectiveness. However, the GreenPath team are applying their best efforts to change all that.

At a family friend’s suggestion, a seven year-old girl suffering from Type I diabetes and on insulin injections for two years was sent to see Dr. Zhang. After two months under Dr. Zhang’s treatment, she was relieved of her dependence on insulin, her diabetes effectively cured. The Montreal physician of another patient similarly cured of diabetes refused to believe that the condition could have been cured. After an examination of the patient’s spleen, this doctor was shocked to find that spleen function was fully restored. He was amazed to discover the effectiveness of the TCM treatment.

Dr. Zhang’s Chinese medicine treatment for diabetes is becoming well known with people coming from all over the world seeking her unique cure for diabetes. Patients have come from far away locations like the United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan seeking treatment.

A diabetes patient member of the Saudi royal family had been taking injections of insulin for fifteen years. He came to the clinic expressing a willingness to pay 150 thousand dollars in consultation fees to cure his longstanding condition. After three weeks of treatment by Dr Zhang, he stopped using insulin and western medicine. At the conclusion of his treatment he was only charged in accordance with the clinic’s standard fees. The royal family was not only impressed by Dr. Zhang’s professional skills but also by her ethics and values. The patient and his family subsequently invited Dr. Zhang to open a clinic in Saudi Arabia adding that they would provide the facilities.

However, Dr Zhang has followed her own mission. She is working with her partners, as a medical group “GreenPath” devoted solely to diabetes treatment. “GreenPath” offers a great program that will bring good news to the world of diabetes. The TCM herb based medicine - "Ruisai" will one day be the development of modern medicine, a tremendous boost to humanity. We are looking forward to seeing this moment of arrival.

Looking ahead, Dr Zhang said: the whole world is now confronting a crisis of modern medicine. The failure of antibiotics is a serious side effect of western medicine. People are looking for alternative treatments like Chinese medicine, acupuncture and other therapies. Chinese medicine offers an alternative welcomed by a growing number of ethnic groups, and is also developing vigour in medical disciplines. Environmental pollution threatening the survival of humanity poses a serious concern. In response, more and more people are demanding a return to nature. The medical profession of naturopathy has become increasingly recognised and practiced. Chinese natural medical therapy fits with this call for new and natural treatments.
